Описание: Part 7 - Dry cleaning using sandpaper or using a moist rough sponge have both been used on Alberta farms. These techniques remove surface dirt, but also damage the cuticle. The cuticle protects egg shell pores while allowing gas and moisture exchange to the embryo. The cuticle is quite fragile - even handling a freshly laid egg can damage it. The cuticle will become thinner and weaker as hens get older. To reduce cuticle damage, handle your eggs carefully and limit the use of abrasive cleaners like sandpaper and rough sponges. By keeping this protective barrier in place, your hatching eggs are less prone to dehydration, bacterial contamination and exploding during incubation.
