CUBA INSIDE A PIANO arose from pianist and composer Leonardo Reyna’s nostalgia and the desire to introduce the exquisite Cuban piano literature on today’s European continent, that was earlier a reference for the development of the same literature, as well as African roots that were an important element in the shaping of Cuban culture. “Cuba inside a Piano” brings an exquisite mix of these influences, from the hand of the award-winning young artist based in Berlin.
The project was premiered in 2020 during the pandemic and could take place thanks to the collaboration and support of the historic STEINGRAEBER Piano Manufacturer. It brings together excellent artists and musicians in the interpretation of Reyna’s original compositions for different formats.
With more than fifteen international awards, the Cuban-Berliner pianist proposes a new artistic idea based on his roots and with a contemporary language which he seeks through his works, suites and his fantasies.
From the piano, a song to Cuba, a trip to the beginnings of a rich musical heritage.

El proyecto del pianista y compositor Leonardo Reyna surge a raíz de la nostalgia y su deseo de divulgar la exquisita literatura pianística cubana en el continente europeo que le fue referencia para su desarrollo. Así también las raíces africanas que conforman la cultura cubana. Una mezcla exquisita que de la mano del joven premiado interprete radicado en Berlin.
El proyecto fue estrenado en el 2020 durante la pandemia gracias a la colaboración y el apoyo de la histórica manufactura de pianos Steingraeber y reúne excelentes artistas y músicos en la interpretación de composiciones originales del pianista y en distintos formatos.
Con mas de quince premios internacionales el pianista cubano-berlinés propone una nueva idea artística basada en sus raíces y con un lenguaje contemporáneo el cual busca través de sus obras, suites y fantasías.
Desde el piano un canto a Cuba, un viaje a los inicios de una rica herencia musical.
