In a rare and candid address, Police Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba openly acknowledged the prevalence of corruption within the police force—and vowed that the rot will be dealt with decisively.
Speaking at the launch of the Police Client Service Charter, Mutamba announced major reforms aimed at restoring public trust and accountability. These include the introduction of body-worn cameras for selected officers and mandatory name tags for all police personnel, making it easier for the public to identify and report misconduct.
“This must stop,” Mutamba said, promising firm action to nip corruption in the bud and improve professionalism within the service.
