During the EVAR procedure, a small incision is made near the groin area, and a catheter (a thin, flexible tube) is inserted through the artery and guided to the site of the aneurysm. A stent graft (a metal mesh tube covered in fabric) is then inserted into the aneurysm and expanded, creating a new pathway for blood flow that bypasses the weakened area of the aorta.
