In this video I explore the details of the White v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire case which arose as a result of the Hillsborough disaster which occurred on April 15th, 1989.
In addition to outlining the facts of the case in detail, I explain Waller Justice's reasons for his decision at first instance, each of the Lord Justice's position in the Court of Appeal and explain the House of Lords' decision; some attention is given to the Lords' distinction between the police officers' case in White v Chief Constable of South Yorkshire and Mr. Chadwick's in Chadwick v British Railways Board [1967].
