The Department of Health says it is still investigating the severity of the new COVID-19 strain. The XBB.1.5 variant has been identified as the most transmissible. The World Health Organization says the variant has been identified in around 28 countries. Department of Health vaccination team leader Dr Lesley Bamford gives insight.
