The rise of AI has promised transformation across many of our systems, and our health care is no exception. AI is already used to make diagnoses, accelerate therapeutic discovery, catalyze drug development, streamline patient-physician interactions, and many envision AI meeting even greater challenges. In order to further develop technology that meets common goals, tech experts, health-care providers, government officials, and, most importantly, patients, must align their understandings of how AI has improved the industry thus far, as well as where it has faced difficulty.
