St Edmund's is the centre of the small English village Allestree in Derbyshire which is dedicated to St Edmund, a Saxon King of East Anglia from 841 AD.
St George was not the first patron saint of England, In the Domesday Book Allestree is called Adelardestrew, so perhaps this means Adelard’s tree. This is all most certainly a Saxon origin, although the existing church is later
