What you’re hearing is about 55 mph wind gust hitting our cabin at the peak of the mountain.
This was one of the most intense windstorms to ever hit the cabin. Because of our altitude, we were sitting ducks from all four directions. The storm lasted for more than 7 hours with little breaks. The power kept going on and off until we eventually lost it completely.
It was truly a night of fear as the walls, windows, and doors rattled and shook. At times it felt like the metal roof — and the entire cabin — might lift off and land in the lake below.
But the cabin stood firm. some mountain summit had wind gust of 134 mph, that's like a CAT 4 hurricane.
Shout out to the builder who did such amazing work that no damage whatsoever was done here, while some of our neighbors unfortunately suffered damages..

Eastern Washington:

Western Washington :
SeaTac, 45 mph at 9 p.m.
Cascade Mountains:
ALPHENTAL, 134 mph at 9 p.m. (Top of Denny Mountain, 2,400 feet above Snoqualmie Pass)
Snoqualmie Pass, 73 mph at 9 p.m.
Sunrise at Mount Rainier, 63 mph at 8 p.m. (Around 6,000 feet)
