Thousands of shelters burned down in the Rohingya camps and many people have died. The Rohingya are in urgent need of medical care, food, clothes and shelter. Our teams are on the ground assessing the need and aim to deliver shelter, food and clothes to those who have been affected by this tragic fire.

Dense columns of smoke could be seen from blazing tents as hundreds of firefighters and aid workers battled the flames and pulled the refugees to safety. At least 20,000 Rohingya have fled a huge blaze engulfing the refugee camps in south-eastern Bangladesh.

A catastrophe has struck the already displaced Rohingya refugees. Due to a recent fire, thousands of shelters have burned down and many people have died. The survivors are in need of urgent medical care, food, clothes and shelter. Please dig deep and help them in their hour of need.

The Rohingya Muslims have been discriminated against for years, with the UN describing them as “one of the most persecuted minorities in the world”. In late 2016, the Myanmar government began a series of violent attacks on the Rohingya, killing an estimate of 24,000 people.

Most of the Rohingya Muslims fled to Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh, making it the largest refugee camp in the world, and one of the fastest growing humanitarian crises of our time.

Nearly 1 million of the Muslim minority from Myanmar live in cramped and squalid conditions at the camps in the Cox’s Bazar district, with many fleeing a military crackdown in their homeland in 2017. Our teams are on the ground assessing the need and aim to deliver shelter, food and clothes to those who have been affected by this tragic fire.
