But then I hit $8,000 a month at 22 years old building a social media management agency from scratch and I realized something that completely changed the way I think about success, discipline, and why most people never actually build anything.

It had nothing to do with discipline. It had everything to do with addiction.

I talk about why I think discipline is mostly a myth and what's actually happening when someone looks disciplined from the outside, why I spent years being addicted to the wrong things including video games and how that time wasn't actually wasted, the moment I realized I could point that same obsession at building a business and what happened when I did, why forcing yourself to care about something that doesn't actually interest you is always going to fail, and how getting addicted to the process of building my Upwork agency is what actually got me to $8,000 a month not willpower, not motivation, not some morning routine.

I'm also a 22 year old that graduated college with an advertising degree who has been running this agency and making more than most people make at their first job out of college. And none of that happened because I woke up one day and decided to be disciplined. It happened because I found the right thing to get obsessed with and just never stopped.
