Giving commands or making requests is done using the imperative mood. This is the form of the verb that instructs someone to do something, and is used usually with the second person only, although making suggestions/proposals such as "let's" is another option as well. In Russian, we take the 3rd person plural (they) form of the verb, remove the endings (to get the stem) and add on either -и, -й, or -ь depending on the last letter of the stem. Some examples: делай! делайте! or купи! купите! Note that for second person plural we just add on -те.
