NSC Olimpiyskiy had the event which people had been waiting for the most since the start of reconstruction - the lift of a cable-stayed roof.That spectacular operation lasted from 22 to 31 March 2011.
Remember, the preparation for the "big lift" Recall that the preparations for the "big lift" was launched in July 2010, when the wooden pallets for 80 pairs of radial cables were laid out on the stands of the Olimpiyskiy. The whole cable-stayed system which is weighing about 800 tons was dissected and then assembled on the ground. After that, it was lifted within 10 days to the height of more than 30 meters by 160 hydraulic jacks and mounted on the steel frame containing 80 columns.
