Nikolai Kapustin: I remember at some point Hideaki Takaoki used to visit Moscow quite often. As one
of the leaders of Osaka Television he probably had many things to do in Moscow.
Yana Tyulkova: Did he come to your house?
NK: Yes, same as with you – he found me somehow. Hideaki suggested an idea to compose
the paraphrases. That’s how I wrote my Paraphrase on »Aquarela do Brazil«, Op. 118,
»Blue Bossa«, Op. 123, and »Manteca«, Op. 129.
