This is the last part of the unimat SL 1000 compound rest making. This part was made using the unimat (as all parts) as a lathe, not as a mill. This is fairly simple and yet shows how the unimat SL1000 turns tapers - by tilting the spindle, motor and chuck all at once. I hope to avoid that from this time onwards...
All in all I'm very pleased with this tool - it will be useful and get us closer and closer to bigger projects I have in my mind... it's also, almost, the last tool I will make. Next up will be some fun resin keychain turning and a big project milling a ball turning attachment for the lathe. This will be the last large tool and we will have to find other uses for the lathe - those will be a LOT of FUN!
