From Dal Lake and Lal Chowk to the smooth highway ride towards Delhi, this journey combines travel, comfort, and stunning visuals of Kashmir.

Firstly, you may not get network coverage once you reach Jammu & Kashmir. Hence, it’s important that you either have a postpaid service or buy a local SIM card there. In Srinagar, you also get Rapido bike service, which makes your commute cheap and fast. Do try the double-decker bus service, which starts from 5 PM onwards from Dal Lake Gate No. 1. You get to see the entire Dal Lake stretch and the beautiful sunset for just ₹100. It is a hop-on hop-off bus where you can get down in between and board the next bus. It covers Dal Lake, the local market, and the Mughal Gardens before heading back to its starting point at Boulevard Road. It is only available in the evening to showcase the sunset views.

Srinagar indeed is a beautiful place with really sweet people. You can try the local Wazwan dishes, which are a treat for non-veg lovers. UPI payments are accepted, and cheap accommodations are available online.

The journey from Srinagar is truly beautiful and heavily guarded as well. You get to see stunning landscapes and dangerous mountainous terrains throughout the route. The bus crew were very good as well. This bus comes with an inbuilt washroom to make the journey even more comfortable. Moreover, you also get a snack box filled with goodies.

The bus reached Jammu by 10 PM, from where you can get many more buses. We overtook quite a few buses as well. Finally, we reached Kashmere Gate near the metro station at 9:20 AM. The scheduled arrival time was 11 AM, so we arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes early.
