MLA Zadibal and Chief Spokesperson of the National Conference, Tanvir Sadiq, today inaugurated the Karam Shah Mir Behri Bridge inside Dal Lake, Srinagar, marking a major development for the residents of Mir Behri and nearby areas. Speaking to the media, Tanvir said the bridge will ease daily movement and improve access to essential services for more than 44,000 people. He added that the project is part of wider development works in the Zadibal constituency, including road connectivity, drainage, and community infrastructure. Commenting on the recent assault of a Kashmiri shawl seller in Uttarakhand, Tanvir said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has already written to the Uttarakhand Chief Minister and that the accused have been detained after an FIR was registered. Expressing concern over the targeting of Kashmiris and circulation of related videos, he appealed to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister to intervene. On the UGC equity regulations, Tanvir criticized the BJP for what he termed caste-based politics, welcomed the Supreme Court’s stay on the rules, and said the regulations have raised concerns across communities.
