With 3 days of gorgeous weather to choose from and one very dull one, guess which one I chose? Yes, that's right!
The Gala centered around the comeback of 6990 Witherslack Hall, the first locomotive I filmed from near the lineside and the inspiration for my taking up steam videography.
6990 was supported exclusively by members of the home fleet - LMS Black Five 45305, 9F 92214, SR King Arthur Class 777 Sir Lamiel, LMS 8F 48624, Jinty 47406 and Ivatt 2 46521. Special guest was Peckett 2012 Teddy.
Passenger trains: 47406 and 46521 at Loughborough; 47406 at Epinal Way bridge, approaching and leaving Quorn; Teddy at Quorn; 46521 approaching and leaving Quorn; 6990 at Charnwood Water, Woodthorpe and Quorn; 777 at A6 Bridge, Woodthorpe and leaving Quorn; 92214 at Quorn. 45305 at Epinal Way Bridge.
Windcutters: 92214 at Loughborough, Woodthorpe, A6 Bridge and approaching Quorn.
Mixed freight: 45305 at Loughborough, Woodthorpe and Quorn; 46521 at Woodthorpe.
