The Objectives of the scheme are as under:
01. Increasing milk and meat processing capacity and product diversification.
02. Increased price realisation for the producer. Quality milk and meat products for domestic users.
03. Protein enriched quality food OF Growing Population of the country Prevent malnutrition OF Growing Population of the country.
04. Develop Entrepreneurship.
05. Generate employment.
06. Promote exports in the milk and meat sector.
07. Quality concentrated animals feed at affordable prices.

Following are the Eligible Entities
01. Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)
02. Private companies
03. Individual entrepreneurs
04. Section 8 companies
05. Micro Small and Medium Enterprises

Following are the Eligible Activities
01. Dairy Processing Establishment of new units and Strengthening of existing dairy Processing Units with quality and hygienic milk processing facilities, packaging facilities or any other activities related to dairy processing.
02. Value added Dairy Product Manufacturing Establishment of new units and strengthening on existing manufacturing units for value addition of the following milk products-
i. Ice Cream Unit.
ii. Cheese Manufacturing Unit.
iii. Ultra High Temperature (UHT) Milk processing unit with tetra packaging.
iv. Flavoured Milk manufacturing unit.
v. Milk Powder manufacturing unit.
vi. Whey Powder manufacturing unit.
vii. Any other milk products and value addition manufacturing units.

Meat Processing Establishment of new meat processing unit and strengthening of existing Rural, Semi Urban and Urban Meat Processing facilities for Sheep, Goat, Poultry.

Large scale integrated meat processing facilities/ Plat or Unit.
Export oriented integrated buffalo meat processing facilities/ Plat or Unit.
Integrated Poultry meat processing facilities/ unit.
Pork processing facilities.

Value Added Products Manufacturing:
01. Meat products like Sausage, nuggets, ham, salami, bacon making, or any other value addition unit can also be established as an integral part of the meat processing unit.
02. Standalone proposals for setting up a meat value addition unit can also be proposed under AHIDF in the existing unit or new units.

Animal Feed Plant Manufacturing and Strengthening of existing units/plants of following categories-
01. Establishment of Mini, Medium and Large Animal Feed Plant
02. Total Mixed Ration Block Making unit
03. By pass protein unit
04. Mineral Mixture Plant
05. Enrich Silage making unit
06. Animal Feed Testing Laboratory to be attached with the Medium to Large feed plat.

In the existing unit establishment of Animal Feed Testing Laboratory to ensure quality feed. Following activities are added vide Order dated 21.5.2021 of Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
01. Breed Improvement Technology and Breed Multiplication farm;
02. Establishment of IVF Centre for rapid genetic upgradation
03. Sex Sorted Semen Civil works for laboratory/ Bull shed / Boundary wall / Biosecurity fencing /other civil works including biogas plant, Laboratory equipment/ Farm equipment including cryo containers/ LN Storage infrastructure / Agricultural implements / other required equipment,
04. Purchases of Bulls and other requirements,
05. Research and development activities for Development of sex sorting machines, Manufacturing of sex sorted machines and various consumables,
06. Training of manpower,
07. Creating infrastructure for artificial insemination with sex sorted semen.
08. Breed Multiplication farm Civil Works for cattle shed/ feed and fodder godown / Internal Roads/ Boundary walls/ Biosecurity fencing / Training Centre / Other civil works including biogas plant,
09. Farm equipment like Tractors / Bailers / Silage making machine / Chaff cutter or other Agriculture equipment,
10. Purchase of Breeding animals with Transportation and insurance cost,
11. Sex sorted semen/ Embryos / setting up IVF Lab,
12. Milk storage testing / processing equipment,
13. Training of manpower,
14. Feeding cost of the animals for 1st year of the project,
15. Research and Development for breeding activities – Bovine monitoring system,
16. AI Guns, ET Guns, Software development etc
