A delegation of Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) led by Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman, MBT), Syed Mustafa Mehmood (General Secretary) MBT, Sikender Ullah Khan, Shakeel Bhai, Syed Haji and others today met Sri Azmath Ullah Hussaini, Chairman, Telangana State Wakf Board, and Sri Tareq Ansari, Hon’ble Chairperson, Telangana State Minorities Commission, and submitted a detailed memorandum against the demolition of Dargah Hazrat Tajuddin Khaja Bagh Sawar situated at Vemulawada, Rajanna Sircilla District, Telangana State.

The delegation expressed serious concern over the reported demolition of the Dargah, which is a notified Wakf property, and conveyed that its removal has deeply hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community. The Dargah was located adjacent to Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple, and its demolition has raised serious legal and constitutional questions regarding the protection of Wakf properties and minority religious institutions.

The delegation submitted that the Telangana State Wakf Board had earlier clarified in its official communication that the Dargah is a notified Wakf institution and that no relocation or alteration could be undertaken without the Board’s approval. Despite this, the structure was reportedly removed, which has created widespread resentment and concern among minorities.

The MBT leaders urged both authorities to conduct a thorough inquiry into the circumstances leading to the demolition, fix responsibility on the concerned officials, and take appropriate legal action to ensure protection of Wakf properties across Telangana. They emphasized that safeguarding minority religious institutions is essential to uphold constitutional principles and communal harmony.

Both the Chairman of the Wakf Board and the Chairperson of the Minorities Commission assured the delegation that the matter would be examined seriously in accordance with law.
