9. SOUNDBITE (English) Yung Ma, curator:
"Even though she's always lived in Beijing, I think as a city it's changed so much again over the last 30 or so years. So I think through her work it's actually bearing witness of all the changes around her. And what's interesting about her practice also, of course she started from a very personal perspective in the mid-90s using her own garment as a starting point, but very quickly she actually moved away from that and she's been very interested in actually creating the collective experiences."
10. Various of 'International Airport: Terminal 2', by Yin Xiuzhen, art installation resembling airport luggage carousel with suitcases containing models of cities
11. Close of sign reading (English) "Baggage Claim"
12. Various of model of London inside suitcase
13. Various of 'During Sleep' by Chiharu Shiota, art installation of beds covered in web of yarn
14. SOUNDBITE (English) Yung Ma, curator:
"For Chiharu, she's actually been living in Germany for the last 30 or so years, so she's been away from home for a long time and I think being a migrant herself, that's actually very important, actually understanding the memories of her home. I think that's sort of almost a starting point. And a lot of time her work is also about the memories of her life experiences, the passing of her father, the birth of her child, and her own illnesses as well."
15. Various of people filming 'Threads of Life'
16. SOUNDBITE (English) Tabish Khan, art critic:
"There's a real visual spectacle to both exhibitions and there is that sort of Instagrammable aspect, but of course there's something deeper here. They're looking at reusing objects, looking at lost keys and what did they used to belong to and the clothing that's used in the downstairs installation. Where did those clothes come from? Who used to wear them? What is the history that sits behind these objects?"
17. Various of 'Portable Shopping Mall' by Yin Xiuzhen, art installation of suitcase with various small objects

LEADIN:
Two Asian artists have taken over a leading London gallery with huge installations.
Chiharu Shiota and Yin Xiuzhen both use found objects and textiles to explore the concept of memories.
STORYLINE:
A striking web of red thread has taken over this room at the Hayward Gallery.
Dangling from the strands are keys, for doors, drawers and secret locks long forgotten.
Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota's creation represents the tangled, entwined nature of human relationships, and the web of memories we carry with us.
Elsewhere in the gallery, another installation dominates the space.
This is 'A Heart to Heart', a huge model of a human heart created from a steel frame and used clothes.
Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen wants people to climb inside to have meaningful conversations with each other - or simply with themselves.
Curator Yung Ma says the artist's work is a reaction to seeing her home city change beyond recognition.
Perhaps the changing face of cities is what inspired Xiuzhen's work 'International Airport: Terminal 2''.
