Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said she "supports a strong and sovereign Alberta within a united Canada" which sounds like an oxymoronic statement, to me. If Danielle Smith truly believes in a united Canada, her policy actions don’t reflect that.

Danielle Smith’s hypocrisy is especially evident in light of the breaking news that Alberta separatists have been meeting with US President Donald Trump’s administration. The group is seeking a possible $500-billion US line of credit from the U.S. Treasury to help bankroll Alberta independence, a move that BC Premier David Eby called “treasonous”.
