40 Dead, 115 Injured in Horrific Swiss Alpine Bar Fire During New Year's Eve Celebration 2026

Thirteen injured victims were Italian citizens, with six Italians still missing. Valais Canton authorities have confirmed this was not a terrorist attack and have launched a comprehensive investigation. Police Commander Frédéric Gisler stated the community is "devastated" as officials work to identify victims and notify families, a process expected to take several days.
