A Teensy 4.0-based flight controller with IMU and optional sensors ensures precise stability and maneuverability through advanced PID control, while redundant systems and safety features like a recovery parachute enhance reliability. The M235 SE integrates modern embedded programming, power electronics, and aerodynamic optimization, offering a modular, testable, and upgradeable platform for experimental and recreational aviation.
Most importantly, a comprehensive 322-line C++ program that may be downloaded has numerous Kalman filters for every sensor in addition to all the proper PID values.
A flying car isn’t just science fiction anymore… but something you can build yourself or have a team put it together for you. Imagine building your very own flying car… right in your garage.
We start with the primary structure—built from strong and lightweight 7005-T6 aluminum tubing with ER5356 filler commonly used in bicycle manufacture. You can cut, form, bend, and weld it yourself… Or, if you prefer, send the plans to a job shop and have it made for you. The kit even includes the damper plates, giving you a rock-solid foundation to build on.
Next, the composite carbon graphite tubing is installed—passing through the dampeners. This adds incredible strength while keeping the weight low, ensuring the frame is both durable and flight ready.
From there, we add the mounting points for the propulsion system, designed to handle both thrust and vibration, keeping everything stable when power kicks in.
Before wiring the power, we install the propeller ring guard assembly. This attaches directly to the carbon tubing, providing protection for the props and enhancing safety during testing and flight.
Once the frame and guard assembly are set, the power system goes in—batteries, bus bars, and the core electronics that bring everything to life. The included diagrams guide you step-by-step through wiring and setup.
Then it’s time for propulsion—installing the motors, vibration-dampened mounts, and carbon fiber props. This is the moment the project really transforms into a flying machine.
For added safety, we install the ballistic recovery system. This emergency parachute is designed to deploy if something goes wrong in flight, giving you an extra layer of protection for both the vehicle and the occupants.
