Описание: Angelina Jolie: We chose to make a film set during the war in Bosnia in part to remind the world of what happened there so recently. It is our hope that In the Land of Blood and Honey contributes to the discussion and understanding of this war and the tremendous toll that war takes on individuals.

Vanesa Glodjo: I finished high school and I was ready to go to audition for Academy of Arts, of Performing Arts, so I was ready to be an actress - and then when this conflict started I thought - pffft - it will last 15 days and then I will go on my audition. And then it continued and I thought, well, wait a minute, what about my dream? I want to become an actress and this is really interfering.
VG: And I went, and I auditioned and I passed in the first round, and I was really happy that yet- in spite of everything - I will go. And to reach my school I had to -- I lived on the front line, first house, the headquarters of the Bosnian Army was like - the house next to me. So I had to pass all the, the road of 8 kilometers in front of snipers.
VG: Imagine to let your only child going -- and then waiting to come back.
VG: I would go early in the morning - -the sun wouldn't go out and they wouldn't see me - the sniper wouldn't have like a clear shot at me.
VG: I was shot, but not with a sniper, they didn't get me, they did try many times. No, I was shot in my house - I was shot in my house, and the grenade hit and the - half of the house was gone and luckily I just got shot in the muscle of my right leg -- and the the -- I turned and really the half of the house was gone. And my mom luckily was in the other room behind the only brick wall - because the house is like those American houses, it's made like montage houses so it was really not so secure.
VG: You can't get used to it, but you just continue to live. Each time the grenade hits (looks shocked) each time of course breaks you inside you are so afraid of this sound - there is this one particular sound (makes sound) and that's the sound that we were (draws in her breath) - it's really you, you, you... Once for example I was walking in the street and then birds - a lot of birds just suddenly went flying and they have (makes sound) and I thought it was a grenade and I was the only one person that throws herself on the ground - it's the thing. It's what we lived and it's what happens.
VG: I said that you won't change my life I won't swear, but - you don't change my life.
VG: My role in the film is Lejla, it's the sister of Ajla - the main character of the film. I read it and immediately I got hooked on it - it was really like knives cutting through my chest -- it was so -- it was a really powerful thing.
VG: It was more than authentic - I will tell you something that is actually the interesting thing -- it's someone who was, is seeing this thing like entreatively - as probably - now I know it was Angelina Jolie - from inside. But also I felt that it's yet some outside eye. It's because she had the - all the situation of the war - it wasn't just like some inside feeling of the war, it's really both -- and that is what is unique about this film, and what I loved.
VG: I said I've never been speaking about the war since - we never spoke about it - among friends, with anybody, it's not the subject that's been brought.
VG: Every day it was just some opening - some opening yourself to to everything, to everything that could come.
