Welcome back to life aboard our little floating home. This week we thought we’d bring you along for a gentle weekend day on the boat — nothing fancy, just the usual mix of little jobs, simple food, and a slow cruise along the canal.

This is how weekends often pan out for us: nothing too dramatic, just the gentle rhythms of boat life. We started the day with a quick wander along the towpath to gather a few blackberries for breakfast, before setting off on a gentle cruise. Our water tank was completely dry, so we needed to pootle along to the next water point to top up.

As usual, the scenery on this stretch was absolutely stunning — being on a narrowboat is such a lovely way to take it all in. Although, true to form, the English weather kept us on our toes all day!
