It’s December 30th in Easthampton, Massachusetts, and the backyard is slowly recovering after an ice storm. The feeders are back in action, the snow and ice are hanging on, and the birds are returning to refuel and regroup as we head toward the New Year.
We’re not quite celebrating yet — first we get through the ice. Settle in and watch woodpeckers, chickadees, titmice, finches, doves, juncos, and any surprise visitors make their way back to the feeders.
