The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has developed a set of 32 quality indicators that hospitals need to follow to maintain accreditation. These quality indicators are divided into six domains:
1. Access, Assessment, and Continuity of Care: a) Average waiting time for OPD patients b) Average waiting time for emergency patients c) Average length of stay for patients admitted to the hospital d) Proportion of patients who receive continuity of care e) Proportion of patients who receive follow-up care
2. Patient Rights and Education: a) Proportion of patients who receive information on their rights and responsibilities b) Proportion of patients who provide feedback on the quality of care c) Proportion of patients who are satisfied with the quality of care d) Proportion of patients who receive education on their health condition
3. Hospital Infection Control: a) Compliance with hand hygiene guidelines b) Compliance with cleaning and disinfection guidelines c) Proportion of healthcare workers who are immunized d) Proportion of patients who develop hospital-acquired infections e) Proportion of patients who receive prophylactic antibiotics before surgery
4. Continuous Quality Improvement: a) Proportion of adverse events reported and analyzed b) Proportion of corrective actions taken to address adverse events c) Proportion of feedback from patients and their families used for quality improvement d) Proportion of staff who receive training on quality improvement
5. Responsibilities of Management: a) Proportion of staff who receive training on patient safety b) Proportion of staff who receive training on fire safety c) Proportion of staff who receive training on waste management d) Proportion of staff who receive training on emergency preparedness
