Chaotic last buses after 2026 New Year celebration in Singapore

Even though all train services were extended to 2am on that day, a good number of people still relies on buses to get back home after New Year fireworks celebration in the Marina Bay city centre area. However, there wasn’t sufficient buses/frequency to deal with the heavy crowd and some of the last buses find themselves being severely behind schedule and fully loaded with some passengers left stranded at the stop.
Taken on 1 January 2026 1:05am - 1:21am.
For reference :
*The last 51 bus is scheduled to arrive Lavender MRT at 1:01am but it arrives at 1:16am on that day.
*The last 197 bus is scheduled to arrive Lavender MRT at 12:47am but it arrives at 1:07am on that day.
