(16 May 2016) British Chancellor George Osborne said on Monday that the response of the Leave campaign to the overwhelming consensus among economists and world leaders that Brexit "would come at an economic cost" has not been "credible or serious."
Osborne said the Leave camp responded to the warnings from the world leaders, IMF, OECD and leading economists about the consequences of the Brexit by treating them as "a massive conspiracy".
He also said a new Treasury analysis showed that if the UK relied on World Trade Organisation rules, in case of Brexit, it would lose trade worth £200bn a year and overseas investment worth £200bn within 15 years.
He spoke at the Stansted airport near London, along former adversaries, former Business Secretary Vince Cable and , former Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls standing in front of a Ryanair plane which carried the words that Britain is "stronger, safer and better off in Europe"
Sharing a platform with Osborne, Ed Balls said voting to leave EU now "is a one way ticket to a poorer Britain."
The UK will vote on whether to remain in the EU in the referendum on 23 June.
