Manual Snapshot
1.Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon RDS console.
2.In the navigation pane, choose Databases, then select the DB instance you want to back up.
3.Choose Actions and then select Take snapshot.
In the Take DB snapshot window, enter a unique Snapshot name.
4.Choose Take snapshot. The new snapshot will appear in the Manual snapshots list, with a status of "creating" until it is available.
Restore Snapshot
1.In the Amazon RDS console, navigate to the Snapshots section in the navigation pane.
2.Select the desired snapshot from the list (manual snapshots are under the "Manual" tab, automated ones under "Automated").
3.Choose Actions and then select Restore snapshot.
4.On the restore page, specify the settings for the new DB instance, including a unique DB instance identifier, instance class, VPC, and subnet group.
5.Choose Restore DB instance.
6.The new DB instance will appear on the Databases page with a status of "creating". Once its status is "available," you can connect to it using its new endpoint.
