Moyross has a shrine dedicated to remembering the higher than average number of deaths of children over the decades. It is unusual for a community to have such a shrine.
Yesterday, a little short of a hundred people gathered at the Marian Shrine, erected in 1997, for what is set to become an annual event. They lit candles, wept quietly and walked together to the other end of the community in Delmege Park as prayers were said and loved ones were remembered.
The event then moved onto the Moyross Community Centre where food and drink was served and the joyous Corpus Christi National School Choir entertained a packed hall.
