This cabinet cost right around $10,000. Not just because of the cost of materials, but because I didn’t have any time constraints. Last fall, I teamed up with three other woodworkers to build a bar cabinet in just two and a half days for a charity build-off. It came out great, but I immediately started thinking about all the things I would’ve done differently if time wasn’t a factor. So I kept the DNA of the original cabinet, but obsessed over the details, removed every time constraint I could… and let it evolve into a whole new design. The real question is—is it worth the price tag?
