Canadian Flag "Cake" -with yoyomax12

Описание: This particular recipe is from the Kraft Canada website and has been around for a very long time. This is the first time I tried it myself and I liked it very much.

1 pound cake cut into 3/4 to 1" slices
2 cups boiling water
2 packages of strawberry jello
3 cups ice cubes
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries (divided)
2 cups cool whip or whipped cream

Line the bottom of a 13x9" baking dish with the sliced cake, cut slices to fit.

In a large bowl, combine the jello powder packages with the boiling water and stir until powder is dissolved.
Add the ice cubes and stir for about 3 minutes until the mixture thickens or ice cubes have melted. If mixture thickens before ice cubes are melted remove remaining ice cubes with slotted spoon.
Pour the jello over the pound cake and then refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Remove from fridge and cover with the cool whip or whipped cream (the jello should be pretty much set at this point, if it is not, leave in the fridge another 15 minutes prior to adding the cool whip)
Allow to chill for 2-3 to make sure jello is completely set.
Decorate with sliced strawberries as shown in video.

Keep refrigerated. Best eat the same day or the next day. Strawberries start to soften and release juice when in contact with sugar.
