Описание: Hydroponic since first discussed in 1627 has been a popular research topic until today. Currently, commercialized hydroponic models are mainly polymer-based. This project has utilized used plastic drinking water bottles to build the hydroponic model. Furthermore, a rain water harvesting system was incorporated to the hydroponic system to reduce the water usage. The system is fitted with a sensor to flow rate and water level to enhance the monitoring of the system. A Bluetooth module is used to send messages to the owner’s handphone if the data is found to be out of range. The model fulfils the 3Rs in which it reduces clean water usage, reuses plastic drinking water bottles and recycles the nutrient rich rainwater. Therefore, the system can be regarded as a green system. Since the cost is comparably minimum, the model can be used domestically and will be able to promote agriculture at home. This project is also corresponding to the SDG Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; and SDG Goal 12: Responsible Production and Consumption.
