PNM Meets With EBC Officials On 2020 General Election

Описание: The People's National Movement met with officials from the Elections and Boundaries Commission on Friday to discuss matters pertaining to the 2020 General Election.


The PNM sought to engage the EBC regarding its ability to undertake a General Election amidst the requirements of the COVID-19 Regulations.


The EBC assured the delegation that all steps would be taken to ensure that the necessary protocols are in place to protect voters, poll day staff, and members of the Protective Services who would be on duty.


Concerns regarding Polling Stations' locations and suitability were raised, and assurances were given that those matters are being attended to.


The EBC confirmed that training for polling day staff continues, and that necessary communication channels will be activated on the day of the election.


The Elections and Boundaries Commission is advising that all Identification Cards which have already expired and are due to expire in 2020 shall be valid until December 31st, 2020.
