Description: Equipment specifically designed to adjust the position of windings and coils for power transformers. The winding or coil should be positioned on the equipment, which uses hydraulic jacks to adjust its position from horizontal to vertical or vice versa.
Composition: Mobile cradle structure suitable for holding the winding, hinged on a fixed base, hydraulic system with power plant and jacks which allow the moving part to rotate with respect to the fixed part.
Intended use: Equipment has a dual function – it acts as a cradle to hold the power winding and then, after slinging, acts as a tilter and allows the winding to be placed in a vertical position at 90°.
Working Phases
YelloV performs two functions:
To allow the positioning of the transformer winding;
To allow the transformer winding to be tilted from the horizontal to the vertical position by means of the hydraulic system controlled by a push-button panel.
The sequence of working phases specific to the YelloV are:
Positioning the winding on the equipment;
Anchoring the finished winding to the equipment;
Remotely controlled tilting of the hydraulic system via a push-button panel;
Returning the equipment to the “0” position.
Winding Turner (90°) — Capacity up to 15 t
Brief description:
A machine for safe and controlled turning of windings from horizontal to vertical position (90°).

Outer diameter Ø ≤ 2400 mm
Height/length ≤ 2500 mm
Mass up to 15,000 kg
Mandrel geometry dimensions:
Length 3100 mm, neck diameter Ø115 mm, neck length 120 mm.
The machine must allow two main configurations/variants for clamping and supporting the winding
1. General Requirements
1.1. Nominal load capacity: 15,000 kg (static)
1.2. Maximum outer winding diameter: Ø 2400 mm
1.3. Maximum winding height (length): 2500 mm
1.4. Turning: 90° (from horizontal to vertical), with smooth speed control
1.5. Workspace: the machine must include a platform (or prism) and a structure allowing forklift
access and safe positioning of the winding
1.6. Operating ambient temperature range: 0…+40 °C (standard industrial environment)
2. Clamping/Support Variants (Functional Configurations)
The Technical Specification includes two variants (A and B) for supporting the winding on the turner.
The supplier may submit an offer for both variants or only one.
Variant A — Support on Prism (Radial)
Construction: See attached file “A”.
The horizontal surface is shaped as a prism where the winding is placed in a lying position.
The vertical surface (table) must have a slot for the mandrel neck (Ø115 mm) on which the winding is
wound. The slot serves for centering/support.
Fixation: Option for additional straps/locking elements to secure the winding on the plates when in
vertical position.
Control: Remote/panel; PLC control with smooth turning and limit switches.
(Holes / Mandrel in Plate) + Movable Upper
Upper movable support: Telescopic/hydraulic or motorized part that rises and supports the upper
part of the mandrel (neck). The support must be adjustable in height and diameter and adaptable for various mandrels. It must be rotatable to release the winding after being turned upright for crane lifting.
Condition: The winding and its conductor must not serve as a supporting surface — it must “float,”supported only by the lower seat and the upper movable support.
Control: Remote/panel; PLC control with smooth turning and limit switches.
