They also called for open communication, independence in victim support, and protection from reprisals. Families of victims, such as Marlon West from Manchester, have said public trust is “lost” and urged the government to “start again.” Sir Keir has maintained that the inquiry will continue unchanged, promising that “injustice will have no place to hide.”
