Deadly 2022 domestic violence case in Portland raises questions about bail system

Описание: In a press conference on Wednesday, Multnomah County District Attorney Nathan Vasquez condemned the release of a man who ended up killing his domestic partner while out on bail.

On Tuesday, Mohamed Osman Adan was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 25 years. He pled guilty to Second Degree murder, for killing his domestic partner, Rachael Abraham, on August 27th of 2022.

In May of 2022, Abraham reported to police that her partner, Mohamed Osman Adan, had punched her in the head twice. A month later, even though Racheal had taken out a restraining order against him, Adan got into Abraham's apartment and strangled her multiple times while reportedly saying, “I'm going to put you to sleep" and "I should kill you."
