"Volny" in Polish means "free". For years, I have been using this mane in various circumstances, and that's how I also named my website. This is for my wife and I came to America over thirty years ago, to be free. To us, being an American means being free. Being free is also living in this beautiful "city of angels" we are blessed to call our home. I love Los Angeles and I can really feel free in this city, with its wide streets, spectacular nets of freeways, open spaces, with its impressive size of a huge metropolis and at the same time big areas of wilderness and, of course, the open ocean vistas.

When Rosa and I came to America, being free meant for us mainly political freedom, as Poland was then under gloomy communism. Soon, we've learned that there is also another kind of freedom - freedom of choice. Freedom to pursue our dreams. Not to have someone above me watching me and dictating me what to do. To be my own boss. My own business - the American dream. Yes, I've gone through this - a little machine shop..., independent computer repair specialist (after graduating from a private school I paid for)..., even a franchise in the personal development field.... Well - I was my own boss... and also my own employee, working as a dog, much-much more than in any regular job. I still didn't have lots of money - not even enough money for a descent living, and for sure no time.
