This video demonstrates continuous bed mesh probing with a binary non-contact sensor (the SuperPinda inductive probe). The algorithm is implemented in a slightly customized Klipper firmware. The printer is a RatRig V-Core 3.1 400 mm.
First, the toolhead hysteresis is measured with repeated up/down moves at a fixed location. Then, the bed is scanned in a serpentine pattern, with a continuous zig-zag movement along the z-axis. The probe ON and OFF trigger events are captured and the XYZ coordinates are calculated for them. Finally, a constant mesh is calculated using Inverse Distance Weighted interpolation.
