Here are the stages of melon cultivation from start to harvest:
It begins with Seed Selection, ensuring high-quality seeds for optimal growth. Next is Seed Germination, where seeds are sown in prepared nursery media. Afterward, Preparation of Growing Media is done by conditioning the soil with nutrients and ensuring proper aeration. Once ready, Seedling Planting takes place in the main growing area.
During the growth phase, Plant Maintenance is crucial, including Watering, Fertilization, and Pruning of Shoots to direct energy toward fruit development. If necessary, Artificial Pollination is performed to ensure successful fruit setting. Fruit Selection follows, allowing only the best fruits to develop fully. Installing Stakes or Trellises supports plant structure and prevents fruit from touching the ground.
To maintain plant health, Pest and Disease Control is essential. As the fruit matures, proper care is taken during the Fruit Maturation phase to enhance sweetness and quality. Finally, Harvesting is conducted at the right stage to ensure the best taste and market value.
