Nigeria's annual inflation ratehas slightly risen to 24.23% in March, up from 23.18% in February, marking the softest rate since June 2023.
Food inflation remains high but eased to 21.79% from 23.51%. Meanwhile, core inflation (excluding volatile agricultural products and energy) accelerated to 24.43%, up from 23.01%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices jumped 3.90% in March, compared to 2.04% in February.
Dr. Adamu Wudil, Research Fellow at CSEA, shares insights on the causes of this increase and future projections.
