Описание: The Good Bargain:
A farmer sells his cow for seven thalers but foolishly throws the money into a pond after arguing with frogs that seem to mock him. Later, he slaughters another cow and leaves the meat with a pack of dogs, trusting a large dog to pay him later. When no payment comes, the farmer seeks justice from the king. Although the king cannot help him directly, the farmer accidentally makes the king’s daughter laugh and is promised a reward.

Through clever but reckless dealings with a guard and a money changer, the farmer loses his promised payment before receiving it. Amused by the farmer’s behavior and wit, the king allows him to take as much money as he can carry from the treasury. In the end, the farmer returns home satisfied, believing he has finally made a truly good bargain.
