Bengaluru-Vijayawada Greenfield Highway, passing through Kadapa and Kanigiri, is expected to be available soon. The National Highway 544 Greenfield National Highway works are currently progressing. Currently, traveling from Vijayawada to Bengaluru takes approximately 11 or 12 hours. With this six-lane access-controlled expressway, being built under the Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase 2, the travel time will be reduced to just 6 hours. The road is being designed to facilitate congestion on older only improve travel convenience but also enhance economic opportunities. Agricultural products and minerals like granite can be transported quickly to the Bengaluru and Vijayawada markets, as well as to the east coast. Although obtaining clearances in some forest areas took some time, the work is currently progressing smoothly. This highway primarily starts in Karnataka, beginning in Bengaluru and ending in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. It passes through 11 districts in total, 3 in Karnataka and 8 in Andhra Pradesh.
