Seminars in Madrid and Barcelona

On 17 and 18 December in Madrid (Intermediae, Slaughterhouse-Legazpi) and December 19 in Barcelona (UB-Montalegre), presented the Spanish edition of the New Lelft Review with part of its editorial board, Perry Anderson, Robert Brenner, Robin Blackburn and Susan Watkins along with three of his colleagues, Marco D'Eramo, Emmanuel Rodriguez and Carlos Prieto del Campo.

The NLR has been a reference to explaining the economic crisis and its impact on the planet's population. By joining the joint analysis with a long read cycle of great theoretical and historical depth, NLR has become a powerful guide intervention in uncertain times, essential to understand what is happening on a global scale and to build support effective political action at European, national and local levels.

The NLR is published bimonthly by the collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, National Institute of Advanced Studies in Ecuador and Dealers of Dreams with open licenses, ie texts are accessible for everyone. As always, to make this possible, subscribers to make viable production are needed.

The seminars will address the political crisis in Europe and the crisis of capitalism as variables that explain the emergence of new spaces of politicization and new cycles of social mobilization. From this analysis, the possibilities of modifying the current tightening cycle of European capital and its relationship to existing forms of democracy are analyzed. The aim of these seminars is to describe the strategies and policies which may have a truly transformative impact on current global and regional historical juncture. Tensions between forms of public management organized around the nation-state and class power structures that operate purely logical transnational will also be explored. It is knowing what today is a policy that can change the forms of reproduction of capitalism and its improvement as socioeconomic system.
