How to Install a Volkswagen GTI Big Brake Kit

Описание: In this video, I install the GTI brakes on the golf. On top of that, while I have the car in the air and the suspension taken apart, I install lowering springs too to make it sit better. I picked these brakes up used for 80 bucks, and I took the time to paint them, get rid of any rust, and put them back together.

Torque Specifications for a VW Golf
Wheel Axle Nut:
Initial Torque: 148 ft/lbs + Loosen nut 1/2 turn + spin wheel 1/2 turn
Final Torque: 37 ft/lbs + tighten an additional 1/6 turn
Outer Tie Rod End Nut: 33 ft/lbs
Lower Ball Joint Bolts: 15 ft/lbs + 1/4 turn
Wheel Lug Nut: 89 ft/lbs

To push the axle out of the hub, I used a pitman arm puller that came included in my 5 piece OTC front end service kit. I’ve included an Amazon link to purchase it (see below).
