WALKS IN DORSET at PUDDLETOWN & ILSINGTON (4K)

Описание: In this episode of my series “Walks in Dorset”, I take a 4.5 mile circular walk from the village of Puddletown (located 5 miles North East of Dorchester). Once again I am accompanied by my Whippet, Logan.

I parked my car in Puddletown & started my walk from The Blue Vinny pub, located to the North of the village. Heading South , I walked by the River Piddle and along Backwater, Mill Street & into the Square.

After visiting the Church of St Mary, I continued along the High Street, past the old Reading Room, the building that used to be the Prince of Wales Pub and on to the West of the village.

I then took a footpath South out of the village (just past Kings Mead) that took me past Coombe Barn Farm and up to The Kennels.

My route then took me South alongside the Western edge of the Puddletown Forest until I met Ilsington Road at which point I headed East, along the road, to Ilsington Farmhouse.

I then joined a bridleway (opposite the farmhouse) that took me North to Ilsington Wood and then on to Rod Hill Lane – back to Puddletown.

My final destination was The Blue Vinny pub in Puddletown.
