#IFD Firefighters participated in Week 1 of Structural Collapse Technician Training for the State Certification. Week 2 will start July 10th. This weeks training took place at the IFD Special Operations Training site behind IFD Station 5. Skills included, Breaching, Breaking and Burning. Evolutions included, Stitch Drilling, Step Cuts, Clean Breaches, Dirty Breaches, Metal Cutting, and Lifting and Moving Heavy objects.
Tuesday's session also included Crane Operations. Big thanks to RH Marlin for assisting IFD with the use of a crane, and to Chief Jerry Harder from Brownsburg Fire, who also operates as a heavy rigger for Indiana USAR Task Force #1, who led the crane operations instruction for the class.
