SWITCHBLADE 3 CYLINDER ENGINE SPINS PROP FOR FIRST TIME

Описание: We reached another milestone this week when we ran the 3 cylinder engine connected to the propeller. The take away was that the engine performed even better with the prop than it had earlier on its own. The sound of the motor, the controllability, and the perceivable vibration level all were drastically improved.

This video shows the engine being taken up to just 3,500 rpm, but Sean Bliss at the controls, Sam Bousfield by the pilot side and David Nobles approaching from the front all felt the same decrease in noise and vibration. This was unexpected but very welcome. We have a few things to tweak before we continue with engine and propeller testing next week. (In front of the nose of the prototype, John Vaughn is serving as our safety officer for the test. He was part of the 3 man engine cooling team from Reno, assisting us earlier this week.)
